Humpday Inspiration: RadioLab

RadioLab.org

RadioLab is a “science” podcast from WNYC hosted by Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich. RadioLab is set up somewhat like This American Life, with each episode about a general topic and smaller vignettes that explore said topic. Some episodes include big-ideas like “Who Am I?”, “Time”, “Pop Music”, and my favorite, “Emergence.” It’s good listenin’.

You can download or stream RadioLab episodes for free at http://www.radiolab.org, or subscribe to the podcast via Itunes.

Make sure you also check out the episodes on Mortality, Deception, Sleep and Memory and Forgetting.

  2. Excellent inspiration Mr. Garcia. I love this show, in fact, every fall I make my students listen to an episode and design a book, using the transcripts of either Mortality, Morality, or Time as there content for the book. The mixing of the audio is really great for this show as well, they use a lot of different types of sounds, interviews, and music to get across some very complex topics.

I cried during the story of the gorilla in the “Zoo” episode. A really great program- can’t wait for them to make some new episodes.
