Is this really their marketing strategy?

This set of logos for this year’s Emmy Awards was spray-painted on the sidewalk near my house. Is this really the embarrassing levels award shows are now sinking to in order to increase their viewership? I’ve tried to find more info as to the origin of this “guerilla-style” campaign, but have had no luck. Has anyone else seen these anywhere? Or maybe I just have a neighbor who really, really loves the Emmys….

I’ve seen these around Spruce and Pine between Old City & CenterCity, and I think one particular instance by the Last Drop cafe.

It’s interesting too because the paint color almost gives the appearance that the sidewalk as artfully scrubbed clean to create the image.

Initially I shared a similar response, but when I realized I could broadcast my personal ads around the city in this manner instead of paying all that money to print in a slew of sooty publications, I became appreciative of the efforts.
