There has been much written about the Jazz pioneer, bandleader, mystic, philosopher, and consummate Afro-Futurist known as Sun Ra. Instead of reiterating what has already been written and citing bigillion different sources in order to ensure proper ELA standards, I thought I would tell you about a retrospective happening at the ICA, called: Pathways to Unknown Worlds: Sun Ra, El Saturn & Chicago’s Afro-Futurist Underground 1954-1968. The opening is taking place this evening from 6-8pm. It should be a good time. Also, in conjunction with the exhibit there will be some really amazing things happening in July revolving around the Sun Ra.
