The Colonel Is Coming!

Visitors and residents of Wilkes-Barre, PA may have noticed a new blue face around town lately. Last year the agency concepted, designed and facilitated the production of the Wilkes University Colonel mascot, the first official life-size mascot in the history of the school. Since the Colonel’s introduction to the Wilkes community in fall 2008 the Colonel’s unique brand of antics and fun has been spread throughout the region- and has even been immortalized in bobblehead form.
Over the past several weeks, the agency has been traveling around Northeastern Pennsylvania with the Colonel riding shotgun. Wilkes University is all about one-to-one interaction with its students, a process that begins long before move-in day and orientation. To demonstrate this, the Colonel has been surprising high school seniors who have been accepted to Wilkes but are undecided on their college selection. Working with the parents, friends, co-workers and even significant others of these students, the teens were surprised during their day-to-day routines by the Colonel.
What better way to show undecided students the personal attention they will receive as a Wilkes student than by, well, showing them attention before they even enroll. Check out these links as the Colonel surprises Mary at her after-school job, Ryan at his local gym, Matt at his car in the high school parking lot, and Michelle and Nick during class.
Oh and watch out- the Colonel could be coming your way next.
