Want to hear us yammer on at SXSW?

So SXSW went a little high school popularity contest on us, asking folks to vote on the potential panels vying for inclusion in their 2010 conference. I don’t blame them: I wouldn’t want to have to evaluate 2253 proposals either. Four of them are ours, and not that you have to or anything, but we’d love your vote. Even better, if we get in, it would be great for you to come hear us speak. We’ll buy you a sangria. Voting ends Friday, September 4.

Our four proposed topics are below. Hit the buttons to vote. And thanks.

1. Good Client / Bad Client
Life’s too short to give great ideas to bad people. How can you separate the best clients from the truly evil—and spot warning signs before they sign on the dotted line? And what are the best ways to fire those who never should have been let through the door?

2. Convince the CFO to Pay for Insights Before “Stuff”
Clients demand hard deliverables so they can tell their boss “I made this.” Problem is, tons of projects fail because they don’t begin with a foundation of thinking and strategy, which nobody wants to pay for—unless you know the secrets of convincing them to tackle the job the right way.

3. Tackling a Project Outside Your Comfort Zone
Everyone’s been there: the opportunity arises to take on a new project that delves into uncharted territory, and your tried-and-true processes and systems just don’t apply. In this panel, you’ll learn techniques to successfully tackle the unknown, learn as you go, deliver great work, and still turn a profit.

4. What Higher Education Can Learn From Consumer Brands
In an annual ritual, baffled 17-year-olds (and their equally befuddled parents) are faced with a $100k+ decision that will change the course of their lives-while most of the more than 4,000 schools spend billions to market themselves exactly like one another. Hear how some agencies are changing the game.
