Infographics Can Be Fun When The Beatles Are Involved
January 19, 2010 • 1:05 pm • POSTED BY tkunkelReading through Gawker today, I came upon an interesting infographic used to represent the Beatles schedule from 1963-1966, obviously a busy time. I really liked the way it very cleanly and beautifully represented the information, so I thought I’d share. It was done through an open collaboration project by designer Michael Deal, Exploration of Beatles music through infographics, currently in the works for chartingthebeatles.com (site coming soon). The infographic posted on Gawker, and about three others, can be found on Michael Deal’s Web site. Take a look. On his site Michael explains that these visualizations are part of an extensive study of the music of the Beatles. Many of the diagrams and charts are based on secondary sources, like sales statistics, biographies, recording sesion notes, sheet music, and raw audio readings.
