Photographer Irving Penn has passed away. One of the most versatile photographers ever, he has shaped the medium for the past 65 years. He pioneered fashion, portraits and still lives with a signature simplicity and elegance. If you work in the art world, it’s a sad loss.

Having worked for only a few years as photographer Phillip Toledano created an interesting body of fine art work. A lot of his work and composition is influenced by his story telling advertising background. The series hope and fear definitely stands out from a lot of other stuff you see out there.

Clic Gallery in New York is currently showing the work of James and Karla Murray. They have spent more than ten years photographing storefronts of family-run shops throughout New York City. The photographs provide a record of the once distinctive streetscape and all the signage and typography that was part of it. Enjoy.
