Connie – I totally agree. I have complete Irish ancestry but I avoid saying “I’m Irish” because it seems like EVERYONE in America loves to tout that they are “a tenth Irish” and so on and so forth.

A great initial concept. The grid structure of the city, the blocks as human stories. Wonderful starting point.

But then why does it stop with the logo? The poster is disappointing. It has nothing to do with the visual expression of the museum other than a logo slapped in the bottom corner. Why doesn’t this grid concept continue to guide the communication? Cover the logo and this piece could be from anyone.

Logos are just the tip of the iceberg in brand expression.

A missed opportunity

2/10 with the potential to be 11/10

Also, I just read that Google maps is launching a direction-mapping function for bike-specific routes. Hopefully Philly is one of the first 150 cities to have the capability! (I’m sure I’ll use it a bunch–once I pump up the tires of my bike and get over my fear of pedestrians and trolley tracks.)
